Rita Jackson Bradley
Nashville, TN - October 20, 1950 - November 28, 2017. Preceded in death by her grandparents, J.B. Jackson and Jesse B. Jackson; and James Harvey Woodall and Lillian Maude Woodall; parents, J.B. Jackson Jr. and Mavoline W. Jackson. Survived by her husband, Henry J. "Hank" Abbott, daughter, Allison B. (Shane) Rollins; brother, Barry (Marla) Jackson; cousins, Christy (Kevin) Hamilton.
Rita grew up on a working dairy farm in Goodlettsville, TN. She loved gardening, flowers, growing things, and all of nature's beauty. A lifelong educator, Rita invested her life in helping a broad spectrum of others, from students and their families to friends, strangers, and newcomers to America. She was a graduate of Goodlettsville High School, and MTSU (Masters Degree in Reading Instruction) and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. A staunch supporter of Vanderbilt athletics, including football, men's and women's basketball, and baseball.
Lovingly cared for by TN Oncology at Summit, St. Thomas West and Midtown, and Alive Hospice. Donations in Rita's honor may be made to the Goodlettsville High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, PO Box 1707, Goodlettsville, TN 37070. A life well lived, Rita will be missed by many.
Visitation was held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, 127 N Main St., Goodlettsville Thursday from 4-8 pm. Memorial service was held at 11 am on Friday December 1 at Westminster Presbyterian Church 3900 West End Ave, Nashville, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church.

The 2025 All Class Reunion was a huge success! There were over three hundred folks who came. Everyone enjoyed a meal from Firehouse Subs. David Brooks did a great job with inducting those into the Sports Hall of Fame. Folks enjoyed visiting and looking at all the memorabilia in the Alumni Room. Everyone had a great time!

Our golf tournament made a huge amount of money this year for our Scholarship Program! We had almost seventy players. Everyone had wonderful weather and enjoyed a meal from Witt's Barbecue. We appreciate everyone who came and played.

Remembering
Judy Adkins
Judy Adkins, treasurer of the Goodlettsville High School Alumni Association, departed from this world on February 28th, 2024. She spent forty-five years in the banking industry mostly with the Bank of Goodlettsville. Judy was born on June 7th, 1945, passing away at the age of 78. Judy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, gardening, and being with friends. She will always be remembered for her great smile and her wit. She loved and cared for others, she especially loved Goodlettsville High School and was an active member of Connell United Methodist Church.
